The Maipo Valley, which encompasses Santiago, the capital of
Chile, and extensive surrounding rural areas, is home to much
of the country’s wine history and tradition. We will approach
the Andes Mountains where we will marvel at the landscape filled
with vineyards in its foothills. We will visit the Pérez
Cruz winery in Maipo Alto. This boutique winery is known for
its beautiful architecture, its piedmont vineyards, and its
sophisticated premium wines.
After enjoying a leisurely gourmet lunch (at passenger’s
expense), we will travel to Isla de Maipo to visit Viña
De Martino. With glass in hand, we will tour the vineyards
of this pioneer in the search for terroir.
The tour ends with a visit to a wine shop on Isidora Goyenechea
Avenue in Santiago’s food and wine center.
