This thematic tour of two Chilean wine regions is aimed at
discovering the relationship between wine and architecture.
We depart from Santiago and continue along the Maipo Alto
Wine Route to Viña Pérez Cruz, which won the
2004 "Best of Wine Tourism" Prize for Architecture
granted by the Great Wine Capitals of the World Network. The
6,000m3 construction is made of laminated wood with plenty
of natural light sources and surrounded by traditional cobblestone
fences that blend well with the Maipo Alto’s natural
and wine landscapes. After touring the building, you will
enjoy tasting some of winery’s premium red wines.
We will continue on to the Colchagua Valley to visit Clos
Apalta, one of the most impressive architectural feats in
the country. The tour will reveal the architecture of the
gravity-flow winery that produces the icon wine of the same
name, made by Viña Casa Lapostolle.
