The
exclusive Casa de Huéspedes
and four bungalows operated by Viña
Casa Lapostolle in the Apalta Valley
are among the best in the world,
according to travel publication Condé Nast
Traveller. The magazine included
the hotel on its “2007 Hot
List: The Hottest New Hotels in the
World,” which lists the best
new places to stay in the United
States, Europe, the Caribbean, Latin
America, Australia, Asia, Africa
and the Middle East.
The list was voted on by experts and
frequent travelers and reflects more
than just a power brand, price range
or a visit by some celebrity. It highlights
hotels that guarantee superb lodgings,
which can only be proven by first hand
experience.
Among the reasons for recommending
the Casa Lapostolle lodge to the most
discerning tourists are the quality
of the bed linen, the size of its bathrooms
and the hotel’s special services,
such as horseback rides and other activities.
Built on a hillside close to the winery
that produces the premium brand Clos
Apalta wine, the facility has four
bungalows baptized with the names of
the vineyard’s varieties: Cabernet
Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot and
Carmenère.
This list also included the Hotel Awasi
in San Pedro de Atacama, which stands
out for having an elegant design that
skillfully combines elegance and excellent
service. The experts mentioned the
hotel’s adobe walls, wooden ceilings
and stone floors, reflections of its
strong roots in the native cultures
of the zone, as well as highlighting
the pool, lounge areas and the hotel’s
circular room, which add to the uniqueness
of this Atacama Desert hotel.
